For those of you who teach the CDT course at universities or colleges, here is some information on the transition in teaching materials due to the Project Resource Manual (PRM) being phased out and separate guides being created.

After the first of the year (2011) the Project Delivery Practice Guide will be available to replace the Project Resource Manual (PRM) for the text for the course. John Wiley & Sons will be the publisher rather than McGraw Hill. The text will be able to be purchased from the CSI Bookstore or through the publisher.
The formats (SectionFormat, PageFormat, MasterFormat, UniFormat) will be available to download to people who have purchased the text..
What does this mean for you as a teacher?
When you prepare your course for spring semester you will probably prefer to use the PRM as the text, as you will not have had time to become familiar with the Project Delivery Practice Guide, although it will contain much of the same information. Students purchasing the student version of the PRM in spring 2011 will still go through the same process of purchasing through their bookstore at the discounted rate.
Each instructor should purchase the Project Delivery Practice Guide when it is published and restructure your reading assignments from that text over the summer. Your fall courses should use the Project Delivery Practice Guide and the CDT exam later in the year is scheduled to coincide with the new text.
As an extra note, there will also be Practice Guides that support the body of knowledge of the CCS, CCPR and the CCCA exams.
